Well, you know what they say about plans, right?
Alas, I thought I was ready to dive back into making regular content . . . And then our dog broke my laptop. This whole moving countries thing is just as disruptive as it was the last time, as it turns out! If my rich future husband wants to scoop me up and deposit a cheeky $20k into my bank account, that would be fab x x
Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening any time soon. So we’re just gonna be catching up when we catch up for the next little bit. Make sure you’re following me over on TikTok and Pinterest if you want to stay up to date with all my fun DIY projects. (They’re easy to keep up with on my phone, whereas trying to type with my smashed phone screen just drains my will to live and participate in society.)

For today, I wanted to share one of my recent practical DIYs: a dry-erase whiteboard project planner.
Honestly, I’m so proud of how this turned out. It was a gift for a new but deeply dear friend of mine, Ashton, and I managed to whip it up from . . . well, from entirely free things I had lying around my house!
This craft is such a fun example of why I love DIY gifts. Not only are they inexpensive and easy-to-make but, with a little time and effort, you can create something way more personalized and thoughtful!
I actually made her a bunch of little diy GIFST AND, YES, i WILL BE SHARING A COMPILATION POST/YOUTUBE VIDEO ONCE MY LAPTOP IS BACK IN BUSINESS

The Idea Behind This DIY Dry-Erase Whiteboard
Ashton is literally a boss-ass bitch. Seriously, I cannot emphasize enough the work rate of this – it is equal parts inspiring and terrifying. She’s working, starting her own clinic and writing a book? I could never.
As Ashton loves organization and stationery, I had a mental note to gift her something along those lines. However, as I mentioned in my DIY dry-erase desktop organizer post, (similar concept, you should definitely check it out) I find paper planners can be a bit of a nuisance. Especially when you’re planning something as ongoing and subject-to-change as a book!

With that in mind, I wanted to make Ashton something practical she could use to note down deadlines/ideas/tasks on – and adjust over time. I had a large glass panel leftover from my DIY textured wall-art thrift flip post . . . and the rest is history!
You Will Need:
- Large glass panel or acrylic board. (You can easily thrift large photo frames for under $10 and use their glass . . . then you get a cute frame too!)
- Acrylic paints
- (Optional but useful) Paint markers
- Dry-erase whiteboard pens
- (Optional but cute) A mini propagation jar
- Command strips
How To Make:
As always, I have a handy TikTok tutorial you can check out below:
- Clean your glass.
- Use dry-erase markers to mock up a loose design. I included panels for: calendar, idea dump, project timeline & notes.
- Turn your glass over and use acrylic paint to block out parts of the background section. (If you’re layering colors, like I did with the calendar section, remember we’ll be viewing the board from the opposing side. So the gold grid lines were painted on first, then the green background.)
- I added the small floral detailing on the whiteboard side using a paint marker.
- Once everything dries, add command strips to the back top corners. I then made sure to paint over the corners so that they stayed hidden.
- Optional but cute: hot glue a mini jar to the board and pop a whiteboard pen in it.

And that’s it! I hope you guys fell in love with this project as much as I did – there are honestly so many fun ideas that this sprouted for me, so sorry in advance because you will be seeing this pop back up again.
As always, if you enjoyed this post, make sure to share it and drop me a comment! Would you guys try this out yourselves? What color scheme would you pick? Let me know your thoughts down below!

Your dog broke your laptop oh wow, that sounds like something you would tell your teacher but it is for real. I knew someone whose cat broke their laptop knocked over a glass of water into it. Ah I can imagine moving countries is super stressful. This is a brilliant idea!
