As someone who used to have acne, (brief moment of praise for our lord and saviour, Accutane) skincare is so important to me. However, all beauty lovers will know that skincare is not a one-size-fits-all situation. Just because a product works for one person, does not mean it will work for you – and, over time, your skin’s needs and tolerances can change.
Not to mention the fact that apparently everything wants to kill us and skincare is often loaded with toxic products.
So how do you keep up? Well, if you’re me, you open your digital planner and make a spreadsheet! Let me share the setup with you all. (As always, I’m using Milanote for my setup by the way!)

My Skincare Tracking Digital Planner Setup Part 1 – My Current Daily Routine
The first part of my skincare tracker is a large – and very pretty – skincare menu where I add the products currently in my daily routine.
This is super handy when I’m repurchasing products as I can keep track of what I actually need. Plus, as an ADHD girly, I sometimes (often) forget what I’m meant to be using and when, so having a written record of that is very handy.
Next up, we’ve got a little chart where I list what products/ingredients to not mix together. If you’re using skincare products with actives, you want to be mindful of what things will cause irritation or cancel each other out.
To avoid this, I go through my products and google each of their ingredients, then pop the findings into the chart. Tip: you can use these findings to rejig your daily routine and find the most effective order!
Want to recreate this setup yourself? I’d love it if you purchased the pack from my Etsy!
Part Two – My Clean Beauty Product Toxicity & Review Spreadsheet
At the beginning of this post, I mentioned that basically everything wants to kill us. Well, skincare is apparently included in that as a lot of the chemicals and ingredients we use on a daily basis are harmful for us.
I use the app Yuka (thank you, TikTok for that recommendation) to type in my skincare products and view their ingredient breakdown/overall clean beauty rating. The app is free if you’re searching products by using the barcode scanning feature; however, if you’re like me and you want to check products you’ve already unboxed, you can pay a one-time fee to join premium and just search products by name.
Personally, I think it’s worth it – especially as Yuka is an independent company and doesn’t take payment from brands to influence their rankings.
At the top of my spreadsheet, we have a little key for my product rankings so I can easily see what I’m enjoying, rebuying or leaving in the past. Below that, is my big spreadsheet of products! My headings for this are:
- Product name
- Overall clean beauty rating
- Mini review slot for my thoughts
And that’s my setup! As you can see, I love using my digital planner for keeping on top of my skincare routine and highly recommend giving it a try for yourself!
